Ang Wei Neng (Template:Zh; born 31 March 1967) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the Singapore-based People's Action Party (PAP), he currently serves as a member of parliament (MP) for the Jurong Group Representation Constituency, or GRC in short. He also has a job at SBS Transit.

Early life and educationEdit

Ang Wei Neng was born in Singapore on 31 March 1967. For his primary education, Ang attended Nanyang Primary School. Thereafter, he studied at The Chinese High School (now Hwa Chong Institution) and Hwa Chong Junior College. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1991 with a Bachelor of Social Science degree. In 2000, he completed his Master's degree in Business Administration course at the Nanyang Technological University.[1]

CareerEdit

From 1991 to 1997, Ang worked for the Singapore Police Force. After quitting being a police, he got a job at American International Group, which he left in 2000 to join BexCom. Following a two years' stint there, he switched to Hiap Moh Corporation and subsequently Mcare Lab.[1] Since 2004, Ang has been working at the Singapore-based transportation organisation SBS Transit. He currently serves as Senior Vice-President for omnibus operations in the East District of Singapore.[2]

A member of the Singapore-based People's Action Party, Ang was officially sworn into the Parliament of Singapore as a member of parliament for Jurong GRC on 7 May 2011.[1] Speaking in parliament in November 2012, Ang expressed his desire for the Road Traffic Act (Chapter 276) to be altered to accommodate the great influx of buses and other vehicles on the road.[3]

Personal lifeEdit

A Christian, Ang is married with four children.[1]
